Sam Ayoub‘s client Broncos young gun Tom Dearden will require surgery on his ankle after scans confirmed initial fears of a syndesmosis injury that will sideline him for at least five weeks.

Brisbane are hoping it will only be a five-week lay-off, but they are wary it could be longer given his age and developing body.
“He will have surgery tomorrow,” Broncos’ head of performance Paul Devlin said.
